The compatibility score blends two signals: letter-overlap between the two names (the schoolyard tradition) and a deterministic hash of the combined string. The blend is 60% overlap + 40% hash, capped between 1 and 99. F.L.A.M.E.S strikes out matching letters between the two names, counts the remainder, and cycles through F-L-A-M-E-S to land on a label.

How This Calculator Works
There is no science to name-based love compatibility. This calculator is a deterministic hash: it counts the letters of both names, mixes them with a simple formula, and outputs a number between 0 and 100. Same input always produces the same output - so you and your sibling testing the same two names will get the same score.
The bonus F.L.A.M.E.S game is a children's schoolyard tradition: you strike out matching letters between the two names, count the remaining letters, then use that count to cycle through F-L-A-M-E-S (Friends, Lovers, Affection, Marriage, Enemies, Soulmates). The result is whichever letter the count lands on.
Take this in the spirit it is intended. Actual relationship compatibility comes from communication, shared values, respect, and showing up for each other - not from how your names sort.
